The Fear Of Solitude

Greetings—

Grow old
While the crowd watches
Reach for the Ring of brass
Sometimes it eludes
An empty address book
Dinners alone
Waving and wavering
At a crossroads
Always round each bend
Waiting for someone
Anyone
To join us on our bench
Fading slowly
Not knowing why
Take comfort
And dream of mournful faces
From the past

Love it Gareth. Guess what? I, too, have a B&W photo with a bench in it that originally I was going to call it "Solitude". However, even before I saw your photo I decided to change it to " The Bench ". I'll have it up on my blog either this week or next, not sure which.

You know what they say... "great minds and all"... :-)

Very nice, Gareth. Very isolated feel to it. Great shot.

Love it. Really do get the sense of isolation here especially with the large ominous tree branch looming over the bench. Great work.
