This is one from the archives; this past summer, in fact. I hang on to a few shots like this all the time to use in just these circumstances: When I'm sick to death of winter; when I'm stuck in the house and not out shooting because other family members have my car; when I want to see colors other then shades of grey again.

Maybe you need a shot like this today, as well?

Something a little abstract today. It's early and this is what my mind feels like ... no coffee yet! You'd think I'd have learned not to blog without caffeine.

UPDATE
Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm now Twitter-ing (we keep inventing verbs!). It's actually kinda fun. You can find my link right over on the sidebar ------>>

This is a shot of the bushes right outside our front door. We had just got dumped on by one of the many major snow storms we've seen this year. Hopefully, the worst of that part of winter is behind us. Damn ... I mentioned it. You know what's gonna happen now ...

Greetings~

Your humble blogger is thrilled to have contributed an article on the in's and out's of concert photography to this months PhotographyBB Online Magazine. This happens to be the publications 1 year anniversary issue and it is choke full of photo-goodness, let me tell you. Here's this months press release:

VANCOUVER, CANADA: Feb 24th, 2009 - PhotographyBB announced today, the release of the 13th edition of the PhotographyBB Magazine Online. The PhotographyBB Magazine Online, now into its second year of publication has grown into a leading resource for beginner to intermediate digital photographers. Each issue offers information such as digital photography techniques, DSLR camera function training, image post processing tutorials in Adobe® Photoshop™, and RAW processing in Photoshop Lightroom™.

The February 2009 release features techniques on shooting concert photography along with issues to consider when shooting in concert environments, a photographic view of skiing in Italy, and an article for the aspiring pro-photographer entitled “How to Get Your Photos Published.”

Editor in Chief, Dave Seeram had these comments regarding this recent release:

“This issue marks a major milestone for PhotographyBB; our one year anniversary issue. Our team has worked so hard over the past 12 months with their informative and thoughtful contributions to the magazine, and the reader feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s a pleasure to be able to provide a free resource to the digital photography community, and to guide those who are just getting started with digital photography. All of the authors are avid digital photography enthusiasts who have such different perspectives on issues concerning the digital photographer, that we end up with a great mix of articles with every release.”

By way of download in either PDF or ZIP formats, PhotographyBB continues its trend through the future of free downloadable magazine distribution. In a completely ad-free format, each issue contains informative and educational tutorials for amateur and intermediate level photographers.

PhotographyBB Online Magazine is available for free download through the PhotographyBB Website at: http://www.photographyBB.com/magazine

PhotographyBB was founded in Oct, 2006, and is a division of PowerButton Central (2004). For more information, visit the PhotographyBB website at: http://www.photographybb.com by email at: magazine@photographybb.com or Twitter: PhotographyBB

Dave Seeram and the whole team do a fabulous job; not only monthly on the mag, but 24/7 providing a warm, cozy place for photographers of all skill levels to just hang out on the forums, post their work and pose and answer questions. It's great to be but a small part of this vibrant photo community and I'm really tickled to be a contributor to this months magazine. Also, I can't thank Dave enough for all his efforts on crediting and providing links to all the great performers featured in the article who truly made it all possible.

Here's a shot of our intrepid editor Dave ... wait ....

... is that the Cup? The Stanley Cup? The Holy Grail of Hockey? Oh. My. Gawd! He's touching it ... he's touching the freaking Cup! Jeez, the next thing you know he'll be thinking his Canucks will take the next game against my Blackhawks ... BLASPHEMER!

All kidding aside, Dave and the team really do work their tails off and it's evident from the moment you land on the site. Check out this months publication and do make the PhotographyBB experience one of your regular stops on the web. It's well worth it.
