A couple of new galleries to share ... a little sooner then I expected, actually.
First are some shots of the Simmons Field re-dedication Ceremony and Hall of Fame Classic in Kenosha WI from July 4, 2008. The ceremony reunited past All Stars of the All American Girls Professional Baseball League, some of whom were fictionally depicted in the movie, "A League of Their Own." Simmons Field opened in 1933 and was the home of the Kenosha Komets from 1943 to 1954, one of the teams featured in the movie. It is now part of the Men's Senior Baseball League. You might recognize the one and only A.J. Laird of The Sandcarvers performing the american and australian national anthems.
Next we have a day at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago for their 2008 IrishFest. Featured performers include: The Dooley Brothers; Fast Eddie & Billy O'Donohue; The Academy of Irish Music; The Larkin & Moran Brothers; Solas; Seven Nations and The Young Dubliners.
They're both rather large galleries but hey , they were both rather large events! Click the links below for full sized photos and try the slideshow feature up at the top. Enjoy.
